Sidran Olson served nine years as an orchestra teacher in the public schools, spending six of those years in the Salem-Keizer district learning firsthand the community’s deep pride and commitment to music education. She has directed orchestra programs of up to 250 students, giving her strong skills in organization, event planning, and education. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music from the University of Oregon, and performs with several local groups, including the Newport Symphony, Salem Orchestra, as concertmaster of the Salem Philharmonia, and as a founding member of the Synergy String Quartet.She still teaches privately in the area and works remotely for sheet music publisher GIA Publications, Inc. In the rare hours she is not making music, she enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons and spending time with her cat, Janeway.
